eSUN – eSilk PLA – Magic Green / Blue – Dual -1kg – 1.75mm
Product details
This eSun eSilk Magic PLA Filament combines green and blue shades for a beautiful aesthetic with polyester-like additives for that silky smooth finish.
If you enjoy experimenting with new polymers and colours in your 3D Printing adventures, but aren’t eager to learn a whole new set of printing specifications for different types of plastic, eSUN’s eSilk PLA Filament is an exciting addition to our filaments that may certainly pique your interest. Designed with the easy-printing base polymer of PLA, and enhanced with polyester-like additives eSUN’s eSilk filament offers very cool aesthetics features while still maintaining the great properties that make PLA so easy to print with.
The eSun eSilk Magic PLA Filament takes a new spin on eSun’s silky range by combining two colours into one roll of filament! This spool is Green and Blue in a pretty impressive mashup, taking a whole new approach to how colours get combined into one roll. Instead of simply fusing together interchanging strings of colour like many rainbow filaments, these eSilk Magic filaments feed both colours at once, split half and half into one stream. The result is a stunning two colour finish worthy of the “magic” name. Prints with the eSun eSilk Magic PLA Filament have an interesting sheen that seems to change colours based on how light falls onto it. Although we offer an entire range of Silky Filaments, this Magic Green-Blue PLA Filament results in absolutely beautiful models, accessories and art pieces.
WHAT ARE THE BEST FEATURES OF SILKY PLA FILAMENT?
When talking about Silky PLA, the best features are quite subjective, and will depend on what your favourite factors are. However, the first and obvious amazing feature of Silky PLA is that the prints produced with this filament immediately look a lot nicer than standard PLA prints before any post-processing is done. In addition to this, Silky PLA also offers some unique benefits that many people don’t yet know about, and these include the following three distinct advantages that we’d like to tell you about:
- Despite looking somewhat soft and fluffy at first glance, Silk PLA actually offers less shrinkage than standard PLA. This is in part because of the polyester contained within the polymer, but is primarily because of the low glass transition temperature, which allows the filament to set for a slightly longer time before hardening into a defined shape.
- Again, despite the soft aesthetics of Silk PLA, it actually offers better toughness than standard PLA, which is due to the polyester additives providing better layer adhesion, flow capabilities and reduced stringing – resulting in a better overall polymer structure that can be bent, flexes or stretched more than standard PLA before it succumbs to permanent deformation.
- Finally, and this doesn’t quite pertain to structural aspects, Silk PLA Filament offers the distinct advantage of maintaining near-perfect colour after printing. And whilst standard PLA often changes colour slightly depending on a variety of factors, from print temperatures to print speeds and even uncontrollable factors during the polymerisation process, the natural glossiness of Silk PLA directly translates through to the printed object, offering almost the exact same colour integrity before and after printing.
Of course, as with any 3D Filaments or other materials from other industries, there are also negative factors for Silk PLA, although the only real noteworthy negative factor is that Silk PLA has a lower temperature resistance than standard PLA. This means that Silk PLA is likely to start sagging and eventually melting when left in hot or sunny environments, although this factor is somewhat negligible since even standard PLA will do the same, but may just a slightly longer time to do so.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS FOR ESUN ESILK MAGIC GREEN-BLUE PLA FILAMENT:
In addition to amazing aesthetics and almost soft, smooth finish that eSilk offers, this unique eSilk Magic filament is also somewhat self-lubricating as well, and we’ve had relatively high success in using eSUN eSilk for parts that need to slide or move with low friction. Just remember that the addition of the polyester-like material means that eSilk is slightly less durable than standard PLA Filaments, but it can certainly offer unique benefits for specific scenarios or purposes. Aside from that though, eSUN eSilk is primarily just designed for beautiful aesthetics and eSilk Magic kicks it up with two colours in one filament roll, while still offering the same print quality and ease-of-use that you’re accustomed to with regular PLA.
If you’re looking for unique and exciting 3D Filaments that don’t require any extra learning or specific hardware, then you should definitely try our range of eSUN eSilk Filaments.

If you’re looking for unique and exciting 3D Filaments that don’t require any extra learning or specific hardware, then you should definitely try our range of eSUN eSilk Filaments. | As some of the world-leading manufacturers of 3D Filament, we aren’t as surprised anymore when eSUN 3D introduce new and unique polymers. However, this doesn’t mean that it’s not exciting when they do, and we are excited to introduce their recent range of eSUN eTwinkle PLA Filament.
This filament utilises the base polymer of PLA, but features some ultrafine glitter particles as the additive, and while this may seem quite kitschy at first, when viewing full prints in this filament, it ends up having surprisingly awesome aesthetics – especially for 3D Printing fun prints like desktop toys and decorative pieces.
In addition to the awesome glitter effect of eSUN eTwinkle, these spools offer an array of rainbow colours which stand out with an extra sparkling flare which creates incredible magical decorations. In fact, eSun eTwinkling Rainbow PLA is the perfect choice for fantastical prints of a poring magical potion, elaborate fairy wings or a unicorn’s sparkling colourful mane and tail.
These twinkly filaments are a lot more eye-catching than standard PLA Filaments, and as such it’s important to consider how much they are going to visually “pop”. While this is typically ideal for these kinds of filaments, if you are trying to emphasise other parts of your project or multi-part print, then you may want to tone it down a bit with standard PLA, or consider using the Clear eTwinkle for a subtle but beautiful effect.
And finally, as an added benefit of eSUN Twinkling PLA, the shiny particles within the filament help to hide layer lines and small faults very well, and instead of those tiny faults being the centre of attention, onlookers can’t help but focus their gaze on the mesmerising glittery effect.
Please Note: While this filament will not damage your nozzle, it's recommended to use a nozzle size 0.4mm or larger, so as to accommodate the particle additives within this filament and prevent unnecessary clogs.
The colours that appear on rainbow filaments are pseudo randomised, and as such we can’t guarantee the exact colours or the order of colours that will appear on your spool. However, after opening and “testing” many of these spools (we’ve got a fond spot for rainbow filaments) we’ve thoroughly enjoyed each and every one and the unique colour combinations they’ve each provided. | TOUGH YET FLEXIBLE
FIL X SBS
Did you know that you are in daily contact with SBS products such as the soles of your shoes or the tyres of your car? But how can SBS be used in FDM 3D printing?
SBS (Styrene-butadiene-styrene) has the unique properties of being both tough and flexible at the same time, thanks to its Polystyrene origin lending it a hard, tough consistency and the Polybutadiene giving it a bit more bounce with its rubbery properties.
This powerhouse combination offers, apart from good layer adhesion, no odour during printing and does not absorb moisture. Furthermore, it has been FDA and EU directive approved for food contact.
Fil X SBS filament is very easy to print with on a glass bed with some hairspray for better bed adhesion and best of all can be smoothed with d-limonene (also available from Fil X!) leaving you with a stunning finished product. | Although many people look at 3D Printing and consider it to just be for decorational purposes, the true 3D Makers amongst us will notice that there’s more to this technology, and with the right materials, it’s certainly not impossible to make high quality functional parts, and that’s what PETG Filament is all about. SunLu PETG is like a blend between ABS and PLA, but is made from Polyethylene Terephthalate (with Glycol additives), and this makes it the ideal material to use for all kinds of functional prints that need to be able to withstand real world forces. And while ABS Filament is highly regarded for its impact resistance, PETG offers a similar level of impact resistance but couples it with some good flex as well, which of course provides a boost in this regard while also giving it distinct benefits and drawbacks when compared to ABS. Furthermore, while transparent ABS is certainly not a common material to find, PETG caters well to Makers who want transparency in their prints, being transparent by nature and able to be sanded and polished for even great effect.
If you’re looking for a material that you can use to print items to withstand typical everyday forces, SunLu PETG Filament is a great option, as it can certainly take a light to moderate knock without cracking, deforming or otherwise becoming structurally unstable and unusable. This makes it ideal for items like handguards on motocross bikes, scratch plates for sleek enclosures, handles for cupboards and storage compartments, and pretty much any other applications that may be exposed to the odd bump, knock, scrape or similar type of harsh force. These characteristics, coupled with the fact that many of these spools feature a vibrant and enjoyable colour, makes it a great all-round material for pretty much anything you want to print. So, regardless of what kind of 3D Maker you are, we’re quite sure that you’ll be able to take full advantage of what SunLu PETG has to offer, and if you’re looking for a material that’s similar to ABS but easier to print – or if you just want to switch it up and test out a fresh new material with its own range of fun colours – PETG may be the ideal material for you to test out… and inevitably fall in love with.
Of course, as with any other filament brand, we encourage you to test out SunLu PETG Filament for yourself, and if you enjoy the colours, print quality and printing style of it, then take the next leap and test out other materials from the SunLu Filament Range. So far, we’ve enjoyed each and every variant that we have in stock, and we’re quite certain that you’re going to fall in love with SunLu just like we did when first sinking our teeth into their range of materials and colours.
HELPFUL TIPS FOR PRINTING WITH SUNLU PETG FILAMENT:3D Printing with the durable and slightly flexible PETG polymer is quite a unique experience, as it offers very similar characteristics to ABS, but uses very similar printing specifications to PLA. This is why many 3D Makers argue that PETG is the perfect balance between ABS and PLA polymers, offering high strength but also being relatively easy to print with compared to some of the filaments and polymers with stricter parameters. However, if you really want to get the most out of your PETG prints, and enjoy both durable and aesthetically awesome-looking results, we’ve collected following insights, which we feel are some of the most important factors, and which we feel are the most important factors to experiment with when “dialling in” your 3D Printer:
ADDITIONAL RESOURCES FOR 3D PRINTING PETG:If you’re still eager to learn more about the intricacies of 3D Printing with PETG, we’ve taken the time to collect together some of our favourite resources, guides, tutorials and discussions, and we feel that each of these offer some unique insights that can help you achieve great success with this slightly tricky but very awesome 3D Filament. Just remember, however, that each of the following resources will have their own unique take on printing PETG, and may have used different brands or colours in their tests. As such, they may understandably differ from our tips, which we created using eSUN PETG Filament, but can still offer great assistance if you’re running into troubles, or are just looking for further information over and above what we’ve provided. As such, we hope that you enjoy these as much as we do, and can gather some good tips to help you get your 3D Printer dialled in and printing strong, beautiful or otherwise impressive PETG prints:
